The post-holder must have a specialist interest in hip and knee arthroplasty to a fellowship standard. The post-holder will be expected to take part in the on call trauma rota. This post is a permanent full time (10PA) post for a Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery. Along with our existing team of 21 consultants, the post-holder will provide a comprehensive trauma and orthopaedic service to our local population of approximately 500,000. There is an active postgraduate teaching and research programme within the department and with 18 junior and career grade medical staff, the post holder will be involved in the teaching programmes. To support this, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis in consultation with Consultant colleagues. ### Main duties of the job You will be a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon or post CCT Trainee with a particular interest and fellowship training in hip and knee arthroplasty and an active commitment to Trauma. The post will be based at the RUH and will rotate operate duties at the Sulis Orthopaedic Centre (SOC).  The RUH ia in based in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath. Bath is an historic city known for its elegant Georgian architecture, green spaces and vibrant cultural scene. It also boasts a variety of renowned schools, including primary, secondary, and higher education institutions. Bath Spa University and the University of Bath are prominent universities in the area. You will participate in audit, governance and directorate meetings and undertake administrative duties as required by the Clinical Lead in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
