Applications are invited for a Consultant in Stroke Medicine (6 PAs) at Addenbrooke's Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH).

Stroke at CUH is a highly regarded service. It is the regional thrombectomy centre for the East of England and currently offers a 24/7 service alternating with an extended day service. This post is partly to support the move to a full 24/7 service. There are excellent facilities including a busy research unit conducting original research and recruiting many participants into portfolio trials.

Interviews for this post will be held in person on 22 October 2026 at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. (Hills Road, CB2 0QQ). Specific department and venue details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.

### Main duties of the job

As part of our commitment to supporting the medical workforce in the part they play in delivering an excellent caring service to patients, all newly appointed Consultants attend our five-day Consultant Development programme within a year of joining the Trust. Leadership is a key requirement of doctors' professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in General Medicine, Neurology, Geriatric or Acute Medicine plus a Stroke CCT (stroke fellowship year) or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
