The appointments are on a full-time basis, but applications are welcome from those who wish to work less than full-time or job share. Candidates are advised to visit the Departments and are invited to contact Dr Chris Speers, Clinical Lead for Rheumatology, Tel: 01865 227357 and Professor Muhammad K Javaid, Clinical Lead for Metabolic Bone Disease. ### Main duties of the job The post-holder’s principal duties will be delivered at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, but it is a condition of the appointment that the post-holder will be willing to work in any of the Trust’s locations. The post-holder will provide consultant physician services for the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with 50% split of direct clinical and supporting professional activities time between general rheumatology and metabolic bone disease. The service is delivered primarily through in person outpatient clinics primarily based at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford as well as hybrid clinics. The post-holder would work 50% of time with the rest of the metabolic bone disease team in managing patients with a range of metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis, Paget’s disease and rare bone disorders. In addition to dedicated metabolic bone out-patient clinics, the post holder would provide clinical support for the Oxfordshire Fracture Prevention service, advice and guidance service and contribute to local and regional metabolic bone online multidisciplinary team meetings. The postholder would contribute to the governance of the service, service improvement and service development.
