University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Consultant in Restorative Dentistry to join our commissioned Head and Neck Specialist Service.

This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in shaping the future of restorative dentistry services across Dorset. Working within a highly regarded multidisciplinary Head and Neck service, you will have the opportunity to influence service development, contribute to strategic planning and help define the future direction of restorative dentistry within a major acute NHS Trust.

What We Offer

- £20,000 Golden Handshake subject to the Trust's recruitment incentive arrangements

- Relocation support of up to £13,000 for eligible candidates in accordance with Trust policy

- Flexible working opportunities from 4–10 Programmed Activities (PAs)

- No routine on-call commitment or weekend working requirement

- Funded study leave and continuing professional development

- Teaching, educational supervision and leadership opportunities

- Research opportunities through a University Hospital environment
- The opportunity to influence and develop an important specialist service for patients across Dorset

### Main duties of the job

We are ideally seeking a full-time appointment of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs); however, recognising the specialist nature of this role, we welcome applications from candidates wishing to work part time. The minimum commitment for the post is 0.4 WTE (4 PAs per week), with flexibility up to full time. There is a requirement for availability on a Tuesday to support attendance at the weekly multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting, which is a key element of the role.

Job planning will be discussed with the successful candidate to balance service requirements and individual circumstances.

A one‑off recruitment incentive of up to £20,000 is available for this post for candidates appointed on a full-time basis (10 PAs). For part‑time appointments, the incentive will be paid on a pro‑rata basis, proportionate to the number of Programmed Activities committed. Full details will be confirmed at offer stage.

Where applicable, relocation support may be available for candidates who are moving into the area, in accordance with the Trust’s relocation expenses policy.

The Trust offers funded study leave and protected CPD time in line with national medical terms and conditions, access to high-quality research infrastructure through the Dorset Clinical Research Centre and Dorset Clinical Trials Unit, and support from the Medical Education team for professional development.
