We are delighted to offer a new and exciting opportunity for substantive Respiratory Consultant to join the Respiratory team at Dartford & Gravesham NHS Trust. The position has become available following the approval of a business case for the review, expansion and innovation of our current services. ### Main duties of the job As demand for specialist respiratory care continues to grow across our local population, we are investing in the development and expansion of our Respiratory services. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking Consultant to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of respiratory care. Alongside our well-established and comprehensive clinical services, we are particularly keen to strengthen and develop our expertise across a number of key subspecialty areas: - Airways Disease – including COPD and Asthma - Respiratory Infections – including Tuberculosis (TB) and atypical mycobacterial infections - Bronchiectasis - Respiratory Support Unit (RSU) The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to service development, support innovation and work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred respiratory care. This is a great opportunity to join a growing service and make a meaningful contribution to the development of specialist respiratory services for our local community. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities The post holder will have the option to join the General Physician on-call rota (1 in 16) for non-selected acute take. This consists of post-take ward rounds in the morning and then post-take ward rounds mid-day & evening. A formal Job Plan will be agreed between the appointee and their Clinical Director, on behalf of the Medical Director, within three months after the commencement date of the appointee. This will be signed by the Clinical Director and will be effective from the commencement date of the appointment. The Job Plan will then be reviewed annually, following the Appraisal meeting. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
