The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant with expertise in Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSDs) and Cardiomyopathies in Systemic Diseases (CISD) to join the internationally recognised Lysosomal Storage Disorders Unit (LSDU).

This is a rare opportunity to work within one of the UK’s leading centres for rare metabolic disease, delivering unique, integrated, consultant‑led care for adults with LSDs and related cardiomyopathies.

We are seeking a clinician with a strong background in:

  • Lysosomal storage disorders and related rare cardiomyopathies
  • Cardiology, including expertise in CMR reporting
  • Delivering high‑quality patient‑centred care
  • An enthusiasm for advancing clinical services and research in rare diseases.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead in the care of adults with lysosomal storage disorders and related cardiomyopathies.
  • Contribute to specialist clinics, national and cross‑centre MDTs, and cardiac MRI (CMR) reporting.
  • Collaborate with expert teams across cardiology, genetics, nephrology, neurology, respiratory, orthopaedics, and other specialties.
  • Support research, audit, governance, teaching, and service development.
  • Help shape national pathways of care and contribute to guideline development.
