NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the emergency medicine team.  This post is a maternity leave cover and it is hoped that further substantive posts will be available subject to funding approval. The existing permanent medical staff team consists of 12 Consultants, 4 Emergency Medical Practitioners and 5 Specialty Doctors, providing senior care and leadership in Forth Valley’s Emergency Department.

It is expected that the successful applicant will have a high clinical profile with the drive and initiative to achieve and sustain the highest standards of emergency medical care. The new appointment will maintain the shop-floor presence of senior emergency physicians, enhancing consultant-delivered care and contributing to the supervision and shop-floor training of junior medical staff. Consultant support is also provided to a nurse-led Minor Injuries Unit at Stirling Community Hospital. You can look forward to a warm welcome and strong support from colleagues.  Our hospital is situated in the heart of Scotland, nestled against the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, and close to vibrant towns that are richly endowed with excellent cultural and sporting facilities, offering good transport links to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Applicants must have full GMC registration and a licence to practise. Applicants who are not yet in receipt of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), are required to provide documentary evidence of eligibility to apply at the time of application (i.e. be within 6 months of CCT / CESR at time of interview).

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Fellowship of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine
- Full GMC registration, with licence to practise
- Provider status for ATLS, ALS and EPLS or APLS (or equivalent)
- Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) / Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in Emergency Medicine.
- Applicants who are within 6 months of achieving CCT / CESR, at the date of interview are eligible to apply.

**Desirable**
