This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of our dedicated workforce and join our team with an innovative laboratory team and the desire to make a difference.

Applications are invited for a Consultant in Histopathology. The post holder(s) will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department, whilst the opportunity is available to develop specialist interests.

The post is based at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. The successful candidate(s) will join a friendly team dedicated to providing a first-class patient-centred service. We are an inclusive, friendly and supportive department, committed to supporting new colleagues and place a high value on work/life balance.

The laboratory is accredited to UKAS (ISO 15189:2022), with a brand new laboratory which opened in 2022. The department has a fantastic mortuary facility (built in 2011) and holds a HTA licence. The department carries out approx. 650 post mortems each year.

You will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust's patients. - Effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty
- Sustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with Trust R&D team.
- Undertaking all work in accordance with the Trust's procedures and operating policies
