An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time substantive Consultant post in the Haematology Department within Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre. University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest acute Trusts in the country and a major teaching and research centre for the South West. The adult Haematology department has 19 haematology consultants who work between Bristol and Weston Hospitals based at Bristol Haematology & Oncology Centre (BHOC). The Bristol Haematology Unit offers tertiary level service for stem cell transplants, CAR T cell therapy, Haemostasis and Haemophilia, haemato-oncology, and haemoglobinopathy. There is a strong emphasis on research with BHOC trials unit actively recruiting in over 100 trials. There are close links with the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England

### Main duties of the job

This is a fulltime (10PA) substantive Consultant post in Haematology based at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. The post is suited to candidates who already have or wish to develop a specialist interest in Myeloma The postholder will work on the Bristol site. The post includes Haematology Ward and Haematology Laboratory attending and a 1 in 8 out of hours on-call. There is a separate consultant on call rota for Haemostasis.

The post-holder will take part in up to three clinics per week, when not ward attending. Ward attending is on a 1 in 8 basis and Laboratory attending on a 1 in 5 basis.

The post holder will also contribute to an email advice and guidance service for GPs for UHBW.

- Evidence of a special interest and expertise in Myeloma and related disorders

### Qualifications and Training

**Essential**

- Fully registered with GMC.
- Certification of completion of specialist training (CCT) (or equivalent, OR Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at the point of interview
- Candidates can be within 6 months of gaining CCT at the date of interview. Please note this does not apply to CESR applications
- Must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register for to start Consultant appointment

- Higher academic qualification
