They will be responsible for the continued delivery and further development of an already established haematology service for patients living within the catchment area of the Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospital Trust and surrounding areas. On-call is classed as Category A and is a 1:6 Rota, which attracts a 5% on call availability Supplement ### Main duties of the job The post holder will work within a team of six Consultant Haematologists, two Specialty Trainees, one Specialty Doctor, one IMT doctor and 5 Haematology Cancer Nurse Specialists to provide comprehensive Haematology care to patients. Please note if a large number of applications are received the post will close. ## Person Specification ### General **Essential** - Eligibility to work in the UK - Ability to work in various locations throughout the network of services provided by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching NHS Foundation Trust - An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required with the Disclosure and Barring Service ### Teaching **Essential** - Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff. **Desirable** - Academic achievements/evidence of familiarity with research methods which have resulted in publications - Training in clinical and educational supervision - Attendance at a teaching course - Formal qualification in teaching/education ### Experience **Essential** - Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in all aspects of Haematology - Ability to offer expert clinical opinions on range of problems within the specialty - Understanding current issues within Haematology and the future direction of the specialty - Understanding current issues within the wider NHS - Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions **Desirable** - Wide based experience in Haematology - Attendance at a recognised management course ### Qualifications **Essential** - MRCP or equivalent - You must be on the specialist register for Haematology or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK.
