The Hospital serves a population of about 132,000 and provides emergency and elective General Surgical Services within the Hospital and at selected Community Hospitals. There are good links with Aberdeen Royal Infirmary which is a Tertiary Referral and Major Trauma Centre. Supporting staff include 2 Specialist Trainees, 1 Core Trainee and 4 Foundation Doctors. The Hospital enjoys a strong association with the University of Aberdeen and takes 4th and 5th year medical students. The post requires a breadth of experience in Elective and Emergency General Surgery (including some Paediatrics and Urology). Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required.
