### Job overview

We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Consultant Gastroenterologist with Advanced Endoscopy Skills to join our established and progressive Gastroenterology Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician to contribute to the delivery and further development of high-quality gastroenterology and endoscopy services within the Trust.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive gastroenterology care across inpatient, outpatient and endoscopy settings, with a significant role in delivering and developing advanced endoscopic services. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care while supporting innovation, service improvement and excellence in clinical outcomes.

The role is particularly suited to a consultant with expertise in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including procedures such as EMR, complex polypectomy, ERCP and EUS (depending on the candidate's skills). The successful applicant will help support the Trust's ambition to provide high-quality local services and maximise patient access to advanced endoscopic interventions.

### Main duties of the job

- Provide consultant-led gastroenterology services across inpatient, outpatient and emergency care settings.
- Deliver high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy in accordance with JAG standards and national guidance.
- Lead and contribute to the development of advanced endoscopy services within the Trust.
- Participate in endoscopy MDTs and collaborate closely with colorectal surgery, hepatobiliary services, radiology, pathology and oncology teams.
- Support service planning and innovation to improve efficiency, patient experience and clinical outcomes.
- Participate in gastroenterology and endoscopy on-call arrangements in line with departmental requirements.
- Contribute to endoscopy training for gastroenterology trainees, endoscopy fellows and other healthcare professionals.
- Undertake clinical governance, audit, research and quality improvement activities to support continuous service development.
