The neurology department hosts a series of specialised services, and the composition of the post will depend on the roles required for the sub specialism of the applicant. The appointee will join a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of four current Metabolic Medicine Consultants, specialist dietitians, specialist nurses, one dedicated pharmacist and one specialist physiotherapist and one research physiotherapist. The team is supported managerially by a Support Manager, Lead Manager, Senior Operational Manager and Clinical Director. The nature of the work will include assessment, a range of clinical treatments and consultancy covering the whole spectrum of Inherited Metabolic. ### Main duties of the job As a senior clinician, it is expected that the Consultant will be involved in more complex cases, often in partnership with other agencies and almost always in conjunction with another member of the adult IMD team. Clinicians’ workloads are closely monitored by team managers and supervisors to ensure equity of caseload.
