Join our Community Paediatrics team in Solihull and make a real difference to the lives of children,young people and their families.This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive,forward-thinking service within University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Community Paediatrician for a permanent 8PA post.

Our service offers a diverse caseload including neurodevelopmental assessment,ADHD,special educational needs and disability, safeguarding, looked after children, complex health needs and special school clinics.You will work alongside experienced Consultants, Specialty Doctors,Specialist Nurses and allied health professionals committed to delivering high-quality,child-centred care.

### Main duties of the job

We aim to appoint an enthusiastic consultant who will be leading and working with our excellent team adapting to changing needs of the department.

Main duties will include doing community paediatric and seeing complex health needs patients in special school clinics. Essential to have excellent communication skills to lead on patient care, MDT and multiagency meeting as appropriate .

Successful candidate would be doing 3 clinics per weeks and providing 1 in 5 on call safeguarding covering daytime including Fridays. See job description for more details.

### Job responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -- clinical role

The post holder will:

Provide 2 Community Paediatric clinic, and 1 special school clinic alternating with complex health care needs clinic every week with allocated administration time

Be competent to carry out comprehensive paediatric health and developmental and ADHD assessments

Liaise as appropriate with schools, allied health professionals and other agencies.

Provide support and reports for Special education needs and disability team for the patients

Complete Child safeguarding medical examinations and provide reports/attendance to conference/meetings/court as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -- Risk and clinical governance lead for the department and maintaining professional competence

The post holder will:

Participate in clinical governance activities including audits, and other supporting activities as directed by the needs of the service.

Respond to and engage with any complaints or investigations within the department

Attend statutory, essential and mandatory training .

Attend and keeping up to date with child safeguarding training as per Trust requirements
