The successful candidate will provide high-quality clinical care, contribute to service development, and educate and train resident staff. ### Main duties of the job The post holder is expected to have broad experience of General Surgery and a specialist interest in Colorectal Surgery with the ability and drive to contribute to the further development of the expertise in this area. The appointee will be proficient in all aspects of Colorectal Surgery, including colonoscopy and laparoscopic resections. The appointee will also be expected to fully participate in and support the General Surgery Consultant on call rota. We are a department that provides a consultant-led service, collaborating across the surgical teams seeking to lead surgical innovation. Job Plan This is a full-time post comprising 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), including 1.5 SPAs for supporting professional activities and 1.5 PAs allocated to general surgery on-call commitments. The post holder will be required to work across multiple hospital sites (Harlow, St Margarets and Herts and Essex). Adequate time for travel between sites is recognised within the job plan.
