This is an exciting opportunity for a consultant with expertise in GI pathology, Gynaecological pathology, non-gynaecological cytology, Bowel Cancer Screening Programme reporting and cervical screening histology to join a large, supportive team of subspecialist pathologists. The successful candidate will play a key role in diagnostic reporting, MDT participation, supporting clinical decision-making and patient care, service development and quality improvement activities, while acting as Deputy MDT Lead for GI and Gynaecological services. You will contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality assurance, teaching and service development, while working collaboratively with a large team of consultant pathologists to support innovation, including the implementation of digital pathology and expansion of molecular diagnostic services. The post offers flexible and remote working opportunities, with no out-of-hours commitment and no autopsy requirement, providing an excellent balance between professional development and work-life flexibility. ### Main duties of the job Our department is undergoing significant transformation, including the implementation of digital pathology and expansion of molecular pathology services, providing excellent opportunities for professional development and innovation. Applicants must hold GMC Specialist Registration (or be within six months of obtaining CCT/CESR equivalence) and FRCPath (or equivalent), with significant experience in GI and Gynaecological pathology reporting. The main requirement is for someone who can report on specimen in the subspecialties of Gastrointestinal Pathology, Gynaecological Pathology, Bowel Cancer Screening programme and Cervical Screening Histology and non-gynae cytology.
