This is a very exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced colleague to join a large PCI service, delivering over 1700 interventions per year, including PPCI. They will undertake on-call duties in PCI and provide expertise in coronary intervention. They will also be expected to take part in the management of patients with non-coronary problems covering all aspects of Cardiology. The job plan is for 10 Pas, but additional Pas will be available for cross cover and these can be job planned on an annualised basis. ### Main duties of the job The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) serves a population of approximately 850,000 with a PPCI catchment population of over 1 million. NNUH is a 1200 bedded multidisciplinary teaching hospital with the full range of medical, surgical, obstetric and diagnostic services. The cardiology department includes 22 consultants with specialist interests including adult congenital heart disease, cardiac rhythm management, including electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, coronary disease and intervention, heart failure, inherited cardiac conditions, maternal cardiology, valve disease and pulmonary hypertension. Two academic consultants have joint appointments with the University of East Anglia Medical School. This is a 10 PA post, but a candidate who is unable for personal reasons to undertake the duties as described will receive equal consideration. If such a candidate is appointed, the job content will be modified as appropriate in consultation with consultant colleagues and local management.
