This post is within the Cardiology Department/Medicine Division of the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro. The post is principally designed to support the delivery of emergency and elective PCI. The interventional service includes primary PCI and a developing complex PCI programme, including rotablation, Impella-supported PCI and CTO PCI. Applicants should have broad training in all aspects of Cardiology. The candidate will be expected to take part in the General Cardiology service on the wards and in out-patients. The on-call rota is currently manned by 7 Interventional Cardiologists, with no separate General Cardiology on-call. There are plans to increase the on-call rota frequency to 1:8 in the near future. The non-interventional Cardiologists deliver comprehensive weekend ward rounds including visits to the Acute Medical Unit to review new referrals. Applicants are required to be on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
