An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join the East Lancashire District Nursing Service.

We are looking for individuals who are committed to delivering high‑quality District Nursing Services, and who bring innovation, enthusiasm, a passion for developing themselves and others, and a positive approach to change. If this sounds like you, we would be delighted to hear from you.

This is a 7‑day service, including weekends and Bank Holidays. You must be able to work contracted hours on a rotational basis across day and night shifts, as required by service needs.

Please note that the base, hours, and working pattern for this post will be discussed with the successful applicant, and appropriate arrangements agreed. We actively promote flexible working to support a healthy work–life balance.

A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and the ability to travel independently across the locality are essential for this role.

### Main duties of the job

The role entails supporting the Clinical Team Leader/Team Sister in the coordination and delivery of care in accordance with national and local District Nursing Strategy, undertaking multiple daily home visits and providing high‑quality nursing care to individuals with diverse and often complex healthcare needs.

The post holder will be responsible for conducting comprehensive holistic assessments, formulating personalised care plans, and delivering a range of clinical interventions including wound management, health promotion, medicines management and end‑of‑life care, while working contracted hours across day and night shifts as required by service demands. You are expected to uphold the highest professional standards, behaviours and personal qualities as outlined in the NMC Code, demonstrating a strong commitment to safe, effective and compassionate care.

The role requires the capacity to problem‑solve, respond effectively to change, seek guidance appropriately, and consistently apply evidence‑based practice, alongside a genuine dedication to developing a career within District Nursing.
