An exciting, rare opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic, friendly Admin Team for Community Specialist Palliative Care, supporting the Community Specialist Palliative Care Countywide Team.

The main role is managing referrals from Consultants, GPs and other healthcare professionals.

The role involves organising meetings, data collection, occasional making and receiving telephone calls, ordering equipment and office supplies.

You will need to be computer literate.  You will be required to work using your own initiative with the ability to organise and prioritise work efficiently.  You must be able to communicate well and have an adaptable and flexible attitude to your work.

The vacancy will be based at Liskeard Hospital, 15 hrs/week to be worked flexibly, to be discussed at interview.

### Main duties of the job

- To provide a comprehensive and full ranging administration/co-ordination service to the Countywide Community Specialist Palliative Care Team working remotely. Working in conjunction with colleagues, healthcare professionals and stakeholders to provide an efficient service.
It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement using acquired skills and knowledge, maintaining confidentiality at all times. The post holder will provide an empathic and sensitive point of contact for nursing colleagues, other specialist palliative care providers and on occasion, service users.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative tasks and IT processes outlined, as well as maintaining strong communication and working relationships with the integrated Specialist Palliative Care team and external provider of care.

### Skills and Aptitude

**Essential**

- Administration experience including knowledge of computer applications
- Able to work to deadlines, manage own workload, prioritise and work independently and remotely.
- Ability to liaise with the public and other professionals and provide guidance for more junior members of the admin team.

### Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience

**Essential**

- NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Minute taking
- Good standard of education including GCSE English and Maths
