The Nutrition and Dietetics Service at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is excited to recruit a specialist dietitian to work within our paediatric service, working with people in our community across home visits, schools and outpatients. As the successful applicant you will be working within our proud and forward thinking MDT, alongside colleagues who are friendly, approachable and supportive and who truly value dietitians as part of the MDT service.

### Main duties of the job

The successful postholder will look after a community caseload across Sandwell and West Birmingham.  The caseload consists of working with babies, children, young people and their adult and the caseload may include working with children requiring enteral tube feeding, with faltering growth, or allergies to name a few. The postholder will have opportunities to work alongside other paediatric dietitians within our team who cover paediatric specialities including; allergy, diabetes, community, inpatients and the neonatal unit and will have the opportunities to build strong working relationships with peer support.

The role requires any successful candidate to be able to work across a variety of locations including schools, at people's homes, day centres and schools and there is plenty of opportunity to develop skills with a varied and interesting case load of patients and will be working with children and young people and their adult/carer. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with the multidisciplinary team to optimise the care of babies, children and young people in the community, working closely with the community MDT.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Broad clinical including experience working with paediatrics
- Experience of working as part of a dietetic team and the wider MDT
- Experience of training student dietitians

**Desirable**

- Involvement in audit and research.
- Experience of line managing qualified or clinical support staff
- Experience of working within the MDT; within inpatients or a community setting.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Degree/Diploma in Dietetics
- HCPC Registration
- Portfolio evidence of CPD
