An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join our multi-disciplinary community respiratory service. Our community respiratory team takes pride in the positive impact it has on patients' lives every day. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of long term respiratory disease management in the community. They will also be responsible for stepping patients up into the virtual ward and receiving patients who have been stepped down to chronic disease management. You will be supported by experienced band 7 and 6 respiratory nurse specialists. When required you will also be expected to work alongside other areas of the community respiratory service which includes pulmonary rehabilitation, home oxygen assessment service, supported discharge and community respiratory physiotherapy service.

This post is part time - 29.5 hours per week (days can be flexible).

You will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care and will work flexibly supporting the team to deliver high quality respiratory care in the community.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be adaptable, reliable, resourceful and approachable.

Providing integrated respiratory care following a holistic assessment which enables patients to be cared for in their own homes.  You will facilitate the prevention of unnecessary hospital admission/re-admission by reducing the effects of ill health and disability and maximising the individual’s potential for independence.

A robust induction and competency-based development package will be provided. This role will involve remote working/hybrid working however there will be a requirement to work from the office on certain days

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- RGN with an up to date knowledge /experience within respiratory
- Experience of working within a respiratory setting
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of respiratory nursing
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of basic ABG interpretation

**Desirable**

- Experience within community respiratory nursing

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered General Nurse
- Evidence of recent relevant training

### Knowledge and Expertise

- Knowledge of local and national strategies in respiratory disease
