## Job Content

### Job overview

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust offers a wide range of health and social care services to people living in South East London and parts of Kent.

We are looking for a Podiatrist to join our friendly, supportive and dedicated team at Oxleas based in the borough of Greenwich. This is a fixed term position for 12 months.

Our progressive and busy service delivers a range of high-quality foot health services across South East London. You will be involved in the assessment and planning of individual patient care, working independently and as part of a team, so excellent communication, diagnostic, and team building skills are essential.

### Main duties of the job

We deliver patient care to a variety of clinical settings including community health centres, domiciliary and residential homes. Our client base is primarily high risk, and you will be responsible for the treatment planning for foot complications associated with diabetes, rheumatoid and vascular / ischaemic long-term conditions. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary service, in close collaboration with our district nursing colleagues, the acute MDfT and the Surgical Appliances department.

In this role you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of specialist clinical rotations into nail surgery; and the acute MDfT wound clinic (outpatient clinics and wards). You will work alongside very experienced podiatrists and will be encouraged and supported in all aspects of your professional development. You will have regular supervision, 1:1's with your line manager and access to Podiatry related CPD events.  This would be an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified podiatrist to consolidate their undergraduate learning and gain confidence in a friendly and supportive environment.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will have excellent clinical skills and extensive experience of treating patients with a wide variety of long-term conditions, especially those with high-risk clinical needs and there is an emphasis on wound assessment and management. Our aim is to deliver excellent quality care to patients to maintain their mobility and independence. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for contributing to the service provided by the Trust.

Applicants must be registered with the HCPC (or working towards this)  and have a degree in Podiatry with a Local Anaesthesia certificate. It is essential that you have the ability to work flexibly and the ability to travel throughout the borough as domiciliary visits are required as part of this role.
