Based at the child development centre on the Royal Stoke site, the successful applicant will join a well-established community paediatric team to provide a comprehensive community paediatric service for Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire. This will include participation in the child protection rota 9-5 Monday to Friday, with availability at weekends for telephone consultation only. There is no requirement to participate in the West Midlands SARC service. This will include p ### Main duties of the job The post holder will assess, diagnose and manage common community paediatric problems, including pre-school ASD. ADHD assessment is not required as this is provided by the local CAMHS service. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities This post is for a paediatric consultant in Community Paediatrics. The successful candidate will become part of a team of 7 whole-time equivalent consultants delivering community paediatric services. ### Applicant requirements You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service. ## Person Specification ### Clinical Experience **Essential** - Clinical training and experience in general and community paediatrics equivalent to that required for UK CCT in community paediatrics. - Level 3 Child protection. - Experience in managing paediatric patients with disabilities and their associated medical problems. - Willing to work unsupervised and make decisions. - Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team. - Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients. - Experience and understanding of clinical audit. - Ability to use evidence base and clinical audit to support decision making - Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems both emergency and elective within specialty. - Ability to manage and lead a paediatric team - Training in standardised developmental assessments;
