Community Nursery Nurses Barnet

The Barnet 0-19 Service has recently joined Whittington Health, which delivers community services across five London boroughs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation and an expanding team. Come and join us on our journey as we develop our staff and enhance our offer to families.

Barnet is a large, richly diverse and dynamic borough and as a member of the 0-19 Service, you will be part of a team that is integrated, friendly and supportive. We deliver a local needs-led service ensuring that children and their families are at the heart of what we do. There are opportunities to work differently with many partners on different sites. We have some great networks supporting inclusivity and well-being, all in a great borough which is easy to navigate, central and reached via lots of different routes.

We will provide a robust and innovative training package, looking to develop and expand on your skill set. Our learning and development department offers stimulating opportunities for continued professional development.  We offer flexible working opportunities and technological support.

We are seeking to employ Community Nursery Nurses with an NNEB or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare to our Health Visiting teams to work across various sites in Barnet. This is an exciting opportunity to join us as we expand our Community Nursery Nurse provision.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main duties of the job

You would be expected to demonstrate effective communication skills due to the nature of the role in working with children and families. Proactive communication with colleagues and partners is also essential to ensure local health priorities are addressed to improve health outcomes for children in Barnet.

Good IT skills are essential for the role and you will be involved in delivering key aspects of the Healthy Child Programme.  Supporting the development of the service and working with colleagues and partners, to ensure the delivery of a safe and effective Universal Health Provision as delegated by the Health Visitor/Team Leader. The role includes assessing children's development, supporting families with infant feeding and child development.

We will offer a comprehensive and robust induction programme, with a six-month probation period.

### Education and Expereince

**Essential**

- CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education & 4 GCSEs, including English and maths ( A –C)  or

### Knowledge, Skills and Ability

**Essential**

- Excellent communication skills: IT, written and oral
- Willingness to support management of change
- High levels of clinical skills, with the ability to identify, respond to and evaluate health needs.
- Knowledge of current legislation and national guidance.
- Ability to apply research to practice.
- Understanding of the safeguarding process and child protection procedures, clinical governance arrangements and the ability to make decisions in these areas.
- Ability to set personal objectives, and manage time, priorities and stressful situations
