### Job summary

Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) seeking a new opportunity? We have Community Staff Nurse positions available within the team, based at Chard Community DN Team and South Petherton DN Team. Whichever base you choose the team cross-cover the whole area.Our service covers the urban and rural areas of West Somerset. These positions are dayshifts and are usually 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm. You'll also work twilight shifts 2pm-10pm and one in three weekends which include additional unsocial hours enhanced payments. There are no night shifts. We offer flexible working solutions where possible to ensure a work-life balance and part-time hours will be considered.You'll need to be a car driver with your own vehicle to visit patients in there homes. We offer a generous mileage allowance to cover the use of your car for NHS business, which includes both mileage and depreciation.If you're a qualified RN looking for a rewarding challenge to advance your nursing career, join our friendly, and highly skilled team of nurses and support staff. ### Main duties of the job

As a community RN, you'll provide care to patients in their homes, managing a range of complex health issues and collaborating with various other disciplines.You'll also work closely with the Hospital @ Home team, focused on preventing acute admission. You'll develop a broad range of nursing skills, including IV medication administration, palliative and end-of-life care, complex wound management, catheter and continence care, diabetes management, PICC line care, medication administration, and drain tube management.You'll need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans, with the support of your colleagues and Team Leaders. Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by our two dedicated Clinical Lead nurses.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Compassionate- exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and relatives remaining sensitive and empathetic
- Listens to others' views respecting and valuing individual patient needs
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to manage own time and plan timed activities for staff and patients.

**Desirable**

- High standard of clinical work and competence to meet the needs of the service
- Knowledge of current tissue viability and pressure area management
- Experience in Care of Elderly
- Experience in Palliative Care IV administration competency

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered General Nurse
- Level one registration with appropriate NMC requirements
- Car driver, with own car

**Desirable**

- Experience of working with multi agent services, and experience of working within a community setting.

- High standard of clinical work and competence to meet the need of the service.
