### Community Midwife Band 6

This role is offered on a part time basis of 25 hours per week, this means that candidates interested in working part time are encouraged to apply and will receive a salary on a pro rata basis.

As part of this we have a number of opportunities for both experienced and newly appointed band 6 midwives to join our fabulous community team.

We are looking for midwives who have experience across all maternity areas, can demonstrate kindness and compassion and are passionate about providing gold standard care to the families who choose to birth with us.

We have full and part time vacancies in our community midwifery team and will consider a mixture of shifts and flexible working patterns.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to provide holistic midwifery care to women/birthing people and babies in the antenatal, Intrapartum and postnatal periods. The midwifery care is provided both in hospital, birth centre and community settings including the management of individual caseloads, clients and/or ward areas. The post holder will deputise for the Band 7 in all clinical areas. The role is multidimensional and requires the post holder to integrate and fulfil all the identified dimensions.

## Person Specification

### Experience B6

**Essential**

- Recent experience in working in a busy NHS Maternity Hospital Setting
- Recent experience in all aspects of midwifery practice
- Competencies relevant to sphere of practice
- Good clinical skills, a commitment to patient care and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced and high pressured environment

**Desirable**

- Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills
- Experience of mentoring students
- Previous community experience

### Qualifications B6

**Essential**

- Registered Midwife
- Practising Midwife band 6
- Maintained an up to date professional portfolio
- To have obtained or be studying to degree level (or diploma with equivalent experience)
- Training in management of obstetric emergencies

**Desirable**

- Teaching/Mentoring qualification
