### Job overview

The Midwifery Practitioner plays a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based, woman-centred maternity care across community, outpatient, and acute hospital settings. Working within the Women & Children Division, the post holder provides comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care for women with both low- and high-risk pregnancies, supporting continuity of carer and promoting positive birth experiences.

The role involves autonomous clinical practice as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout the maternity journey. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care plans, safeguarding support, infant feeding promotion, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

The practitioner contributes to maintaining clinical standards, supporting service improvement, and promoting effective communication across maternity services and partner agencies. The role also includes participation in a 24-hour rota, including night duty and on-call commitments, with care delivered across hospital and community environments, including women’s homes.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication and time management skills, and a commitment to professional development, clinical governance, and collaborative team working.

This particular post will focused mainly in the Newark area.
