Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust (LPFT) is an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies site (IAPT).  An opportunity has arisen for two Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapists Band 6 to join the Lincolnshire Talking Therapies Service ,with an uplift to Band 7 on successful completion of training

Posts available: Gainsborough and Louth

Although you may also be required to cover alternative bases to meet service need if appropriate

The Service provides evidence-based interventions within a stepped care model, treating people with mild to moderate common mental health problems.  This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major national service, which has fundamentally changed the way in which psychological treatments are provided.

### Main duties of the job

All applicants will need to work towards gaining a PG Diploma in CBT as an essential requirement, full support and supervision will be provided for this

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work within a team environment and be thoroughly conversant with the use of clinical systems.

The Band 6 Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapist will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing step 3 protocol driven CBT interventions for a range of anxiety disorders and depression. The post holder will be expected to hold a clinical caseload, and will be provided with clinical supervision.

## Person Specification

### Training

**Essential**

- Able to attend University on the required days for the course duration
- Able to complete the academic components of the course.
- Able to integrate training into practice

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working in a mental health setting.
- Experience of working with people experiencing common mental health disorders.
- Ability to meet agreed service targets
- Ability to manage a caseload and own time.

**Desirable**

- Experience of delivering psychological interventions.
- Experience of working in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcome.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- One of the following core professions: Arts Therapists – HCPC Registered, Counselling – Accredited with the BACP, IACP, COSCA, or FDAP (NCAC), or Registered Member CPC, Medicine – Psychiatrist or General Practitioner, MBChB or MBBS, and usually PG training with membership of MRCGP, MRCP or MRCPsych, Occupational Therapy – BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy, MSc Occupational Therapy, or Dip C.O.T and HCPC Registered, Probation Services – DipPS, Psychology – 1st degree plus a post-graduate qualification (MSc or Doctorate) in an applied area such as clinical, counselling, educational, forensic, health psychology. HCPC Registered as Practitioner Psychologist (HCPC registration alone insufficient), Psychotherapy / Psychotherapeutic Counselling with UKCP Registration, Registered Nurse – Mental Health (RMN), or Learning Disability (general nursing and enrolled nursing is insufficient), Social Work – CQSW, DipSW or BA/BSc Hons Social Work, Teacher of Special Education / Needs – CertEd, B.Ed, or BA/BSc with PGCE, plus additional specialist training in Special Education, with additional counselling / psychotherapy training.
- Or; Evidence of meeting the Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) requirements of the BABCP

### Special Requirements

**Essential**

- Demonstrable working knowledge and understanding of all relevant policies and legislation
- Understanding of common mental health problems and of current approaches to treatment e.g. NICE Guidelines
- Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and other common mental health problems.
- Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post
- Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in the workplace.
