### Job summary

This is a brand new following a reorganisation of the staffing structure of the MHTR service. The service has been provided by the trust since April 2025 so is in its infancy. Secondments will also be considered for this role.

This role will work alongside the recently appointed team manager and be responsible for overseeing the day to day clinical delivery of the orders which are completed by the practitioners.

This is a great opportunity to help shape and further develop a busy and thriving service working with a small but enthusiastic team.

Fixed term end date: 31/03/2027

### Main duties of the job

- Work alongside the Team Manager overseeing day to day clinical practice of the practitioners and providing clinical advice and guidance
- Responding to and working with key stakeholders such as probation and the courts
- Providing local clinical leadership, co-ordination and supervision for trainees and volunteers employed by or attached to the MHTR service, under the general direction and supervision of the Clinical Lead
- Providing advice and consultancy to professionals, patients, family members, and carers
- To provide clinical supervision and consultation to the MHTR team
- The post holder will be supported by senior colleagues within their specialist field. The post holder will be expected to make good use of the expertise of others within the service to further develop their clinical skills with this client group.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a wide range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care and in patient settings.
- Experience, and/or training in diversity awareness and social inequality

**Desirable**

- Experience of working under supervision in secondary care adult mental health services
- Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Qualified Clinical or Counselling or Forensic Psychologist (D.Clin.Psychol. or equivalent) and eligible for Chartered Clinical or Counselling of Forensic Psychologist Status in the British Psychological Society and Registered with HCPC.
- Further training or experience in clinical specialism
- Further training in related area

**Desirable**

- Further training in at least one (other) psychological therapy
- IT Skills

### Knowledge and skills

**Essential**

- Knowledge and familiarity of secure services; and of the services in the NHS where psychology and psychological therapies is commonly applied.
- An understanding of providing psychological therapy for service users presenting with Severe and Complex mental health problems.
- Excellent verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills
