It incorporates an Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) and a Wellbeing Service, and offers evidence-based psychological treatments (e.g., CBT, IPT, EMDR, DIT) to people with common mental health problems (i.e., depression, anxiety disorders and eating disorders) within a stepped-care model. The service is professionally managed by a Consultant Psychologist and operationally managed by a Clinical Service Manager. The clinical team includes qualified IAPT High Intensity CBT Therapists, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners who provide evidence-based psychological interventions in line with NICE guidance. About the location: Tooting (Wandsworth) Wandsworth Talking Therapies is in Tooting Broadway easily accessible by tube and bus and a short walk from the nearest train station (Tooting Broadway tube station and Balham mainline). Staff can easily access a range of shops, cafes and restaurants on Tooting High Street. ### Main duties of the job We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled CBT Therapist or Clinical / Counselling Psychologist with IAPT experience to join our committed and hard-working clinical senior management team on a permanent basis. You will be leading and managing the provision of a psychological therapy service to patients. You will provide both triage and clinical supervision to members of the Step 2 and 3 team. You will organise and lead clinical skills supervision and training sessions to the Step 2 or 3 team. You will contribute to the daily risk duty system and referral screening, supporting the safe and efficient running of the service. You will work clinically within primary care settings and be required to work flexible hours in line with the ‘Improving Access’ agenda. The service operates from 8am to 8pm Monday to Thursday, and Friday 9 to 5pm and the post-holder will be required to work at least one evening per week. Working hours can be negotiated and many of our clinicians prefer to work condensed hours to allow for a better work/life balance. You will have access to CPD opportunities, including quarterly CBT workshops provided in-house by external expert speakers. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities To provide specialist psychological services to patients referred to the Wandsworth Talking Therapies team. This will include providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy as well as offering advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to other members of the Talking Therapies team. To provide both clinical supervision and case management supervision to the psychological therapists within Steps 2 and/or 3 team. Working alongside other members of the Senior Management Team, the postholder will share responsibility for the smooth operation of the service, including ensuring that referrals are contacted in a timely fashion, that assessment and treatment protocols are adhered to, that appropriate decisions regarding stepped care are carried out smoothly and efficiently, and that clinical data entries are completed accurately. To hold and be responsible for lead areas within the team, which includes evaluation, development and improvement of the areas as well as recruitment of junior staff into lead areas and distribution of tasks. The post holder is expected to operate within recognised professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Talking Therapies service’s policies and procedures. The postholder will also be responsible for conducting audit and analyses of data held on the electronic record system (IAPTus). The post holder will be required to work flexible hours in line with service opening times and GP surgery hours (8 am – 8 pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 8-5pm). This will include at least two week-day evenings.
