Salary: £51,931 - £69,976 per annum/pro rata

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- The post holder will have delegated responsibility for all the patients under care of Critical Care.  He/she will refer to the Consultants when problems arise which are beyond his authority and/or experience.
- The post holder will be expected to assist in the care of critically unwell patients on the general wards who may need critical care review or admission to one of the critical care wards.
- The post holder must maintain liaison with colleagues who are on duty immediately before and after.
- The post holder will participate in the duty rota with other middle and junior grade medical and ACCP staff in the Department.
- The post holder will be required to actively participate in clinical audit and implement its results and relate these to the Trust and Directorate policies on Clinical Governance.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Minimum of one year’s full time hospital service in CT-equivalent or higher grades since first obtaining full or limited registration or equivalent
- Experience in critical care and/ or anaesthesia/ emergency medicine
- Experience in clinical research

**Desirable**

- Experience in teaching
- Experience with simulation training

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Primary Medical Degree
- Full Registration with GMC
- Part 1 or Part 2 MRCP, Primary FRCA, MCEM
