The National Centre in Sheffield has been treating patients with Gamma Knife Radiosurgery since 1985. Sheffield was the first unit in the world to install the latest GammaKnife model, the Esprit, in 2023. The unit currently treats around 1000 patients per year. ### Main duties of the job Job Purpose - To provide clinical technical support to The National Centre for Stereotactic Radiosurgery including all aspect of patient treatment, dosimetry and quality assurance of Radiosurgery equipment. - Take an active role in the provision of medical physics support for the stereotactic radiosurgery services, including the provision of technical support at all stages of the patient preparation, target localisation, planning and treatment processes. - The post holder contributes to research projects as guided by the Section Chief Clinical technologist.
