The Clinical Team Leader will lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice; with particular reference to the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. They will also assist in leading and monitoring the performance and work of the multi-disciplinary ward staff; supervising the work of Staff Nurses, healthcare Assistants, and student nurses. The Clinical Team Leader will deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager in their absence.

Working as a Clinical Team Leader, this position will require the post holder to support the Ward Manager to provide operational management and leadership to a team of Nursing staff and work effectively alongside a multi-disciplinary team. You will be closely involved in developing excellent care pathways for patients within our service and to support Recovery & User Empowerment at all stages of care and treatment.  We hope the post holder will help to shape the future of our service and provide high quality of care for Users of our Services.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Able to demonstrate knowledge and skills in mental health nursing practice and current trends within mental health nursing.
- Act in such a manner as outlined in the code of professional conduct and which meets the requirements of the Mental Health Act.
- Maintain & demonstrate awareness of professional and organisational developments.

**Desirable**

- Vision about service direction and clinical practice developments.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Relevant Experience in Mental Health at Band 5 or equivalent.

**Desirable**

- General life Experience / skills
- Previous experience at acting band 6 or equivalent
- Experience of forensic Mental Health Nursing
- Evidence of being an inspirational leader.

### Qualifications & Training

**Essential**

- Hold a current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Nurse. RN3, RNMH, RN4, RN5, RN6,RNLD.

**Desirable**

- Diploma/ Degree In Nursing
- ENB 770 or equivalent ENB 998 or Mentorship/ Supervision
- Teaching Qualification
- NVQ Assessor
- Relevant post registration health care and/or management qualifications
- Leadership / Coaching Qualification
