An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly motivated nurse to join the East Lancashire District Nursing Service as a Clinical Team Leader.

We are looking for a dynamic leader with significant community nursing experience at Band 6 level or above who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care, supporting staff development, and driving service improvement. The successful candidate will hold, or be working towards, the Community Specialist Practitioner Qualification in District Nursing and demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate leadership.

As a Clinical Team Leader, you will provide clinical and operational leadership, ensuring safe, high-quality care across the locality. You will support staff development through supervision, mentorship, and professional development while promoting high standards of practice.

You will contribute to service development and quality improvement, champion evidence-based practice, uphold professional standards, and work collaboratively with colleagues, patients, carers, and partner organisations to improve outcomes and patient experience.

The service operates 7 days a week, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, and requires flexibility to work a rotational shift pattern. Base location and working hours will be discussed at interview.

### Main duties of the job

The post holder carries overall responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the district nursing service.  They will ensure the daily organisation, operational management, and evaluation of the district nursing team ensuring systems are in place to secure comprehensive service delivery for the local population. They will ensure collaborative working across divisions, with General Practitioners, partner professionals and agencies to secure care closer to home and positive outcomes for patients and their families.  They will be responsible for the budget for the designated team ensuring financial balance and any cost improvement programmes are realised. S/he will provide the leadership, direction, and line management necessary for effective and efficient service delivery and will support the Matron in the delivery of strategic and organisational initiatives and priorities, including infection prevention and control, the promotion of harm free care, and reducing avoidable bed days/admissions, whilst maintaining high standards of clinical practice and professional conduct.

Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle is essential.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Substantial post registration experience in district nursing at Band 6 Sister level
- Experience of caseload management and work allocation
- Experience of leadership in multidisciplinary team working situations
- Experience of undertaking appraisals, sickness absence management, recruitment & performance management

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Registered Nurse i.e. RN Adult branch
- BSc/MSc Community Specialist Practice (District Nursing)

### Personal Attributes

**Essential**

- Able to work across core and out of hours teams including nights as determined by service need/roster
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
