Applications are invited for two posts of Clinical Teaching Fellow (Core) in Emergency Medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, commencing on 01 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter until 30 September 2027.

These are new and exciting roles for suitably qualified doctors who will be key in the development, delivery and quality assurance of core curriculum teaching for the University of Cambridge Medical students placed at CUH/Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

Clinical duties will be based entirely within the Emergency Department. Teaching duties will be focused primarily on Emergency Medicine, with additional opportunities to teach medical students placed in Anaesthetics and Perioperative Medicine.

In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria as set out in the Person Specification. You must have minimum of:

- At least 24 months clinical work experience in the NHS
- Completion of UK Foundation Competencies
- Completed a minimum of four to six months experience in Emergency Medicine

Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at point of application is required.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will work in collaboration with named educational supervisors — Dr Dominic Rayment (lead for Year 4 students) and Dr Eoin Macdonald-Nethercott (lead for Year 6 students) in the Emergency Department, and Dr Famila Alagarsamy (lead for students in Anaesthetics and Perioperative Medicine) — as well as the Clinical Sub-Dean for medical students, the Director of Medical Education (DME), and other postgraduate doctors, to support a learning culture, implement educational initiatives, and provide peer support.

You will be part of a team of CUH doctors who support the delivery of undergraduate medical education alongside clinical service (50:50 education:clinical split). The role provides an opportunity for a motivated doctor to develop as a clinical educator while contributing to high-quality teaching and supporting learner development.

**Essential**

- Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the GMC at time of application
- Completion of a UK-based Foundation programme and Foundation Competencies
- At least 24 months employment experience in the NHS
- Completed a minimum of four to 6 months in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, or another ACCS speciality, acute medicine, or intensive care
- Evidence of interest and participation in educational activities relating to medical students
- Logbook indicating validated experience of an appropriate range and number of clinical procedures

**Desirable**

- MRCEM Primary exam, or MRCP part 1
- PG Cert in Medical Education
- Experience of being an undergraduate tutor, Experience of a clinical supervisor role to medical students, or previous teaching experience
- ATLS/ALS/APLS
