### Job overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Support Worker (CSW) in Ophthalmology or Theatres, to work in our busy Ophthalmic Day Unit.

You will be required to undertake a variety of tasks, including the admission and discharge of the patients, circulating in theatre; all the time working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The unit undertakes a holistic approach to the surgical patient pathway to ensure they receive the highest quality care during their pathway. You will be given to the opportunity to work in all areas of the patient’s journey.

We are striving to make the Ophthalmic services patients receive second to none! If you feel this challenge excites you then come and join our dedicated team.

A minimum of GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4 or Functional skills for English/Maths and NVQ2 in health and social care or the equivalent experience is essential.

The team is friendly and supportive with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care.  This is a role where you will be offered support to develop your skills.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working within the Ophthalmic healthcare environment or Experience of working as Clinical Support worker / Assistant Theatre Practitioner within the Operating Theatre or relevant acute Hospital environment.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Good general level of education to GCSE level grade C or above or GNVQ
- Educated to NVQ level 3 in relevant field or equivalent knowledge and experience

**Desirable**

- Evidence of additional training and competency in theatre environment
- Evidence of additional training and competency in Ophthalmology
- Completion of Care certificate
