### Job summary

An exciting opportunity has become available within the Be U Swindon Mental Health Support Team for a part time Clinical Supervisor and Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner to increase the services supervision capacity. Under expert supervision and as part of a dynamic and evolving mental health support team the successful post- holder will supervise, develop, and support Education Mental Health Practitioners/Childrens Wellbeing Practitioners to provide guided self-help, low intensity, brief, evidence-based CBT and to deliver groups and Whole School Approach Interventions. The role will also involve highlighting areas of need within the team and helping to develop the service and create quality improvement plans supported by, and in conjunction with, senior colleagues. The post holder will also hold a small caseload of 6-8 in agreement with their supervisor and some line management responsibility will be required.

The post holder will provide clinical leadership, supervision, and operational support within the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), working collaboratively with schools, children's services, health professionals, and community partners to deliver high-quality mental health support for children and young people. They will manage and allocate referrals, contribute to service development, quality improvement, and safeguarding processes, and support the delivery of evidence-based interventions in line with CYP IAPT principles. The role includes providing clinical and case management supervision to Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) and Children's Wellbeing Practitioners (CWPs), supporting whole-school approach initiatives, conducting assessments and low-intensity CBT interventions, and ensuring effective signposting to appropriate services. The post holder will maintain accurate clinical records, contribute to audit and outcome monitoring activities, identify training and development needs across the team, and promote best practice through training, mentorship, and service improvement initiatives. They will be responsible for maintaining high professional standards, participating in supervision and continuing professional development, adhering to safeguarding, confidentiality, and governance requirements, and promoting inclusive, child-centred practice that supports positive mental health outcomes.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience of working with children, young people and their families in an education or health care setting
- Experience and understanding of safeguarding CYP and other relevant legislation and policies.
- A further relevant degree qualification. Demonstratable Knowledge and post qualification experience of working, delivering Low intensity CBT interventions to CYP and or their families within a multi-agency environment.
- Significant experience of working with CYP and their families around a range of emotional/mental health and developmental needs.
- Experience of monitoring and recording outcome measures for childrens emotional wellbeing.
- Experience of delivering training in subjects related to mental health and wellbeing. Application Form/ Interview/ Certificates/Assessment
- Experience of the delivery of specific therapeutic interventions with children, young people or their families (e.g. CBT, solution focused brief therapy).
- Experience of working and liaising with a wide variety of agencies and stakeholders.
- Experience of negotiating, problem solving and relationship management where there are disagreements or resistance within the system.
- Experience of line management.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Completed, EMHP Supervisor Post Graduate Certificate provided by one of the nationally commissioned training providers, which provides eligibility to supervise Trainee EMHPs and qualified EMHPs and CWPs in line with their registration requirements.
- Completed approved academic course or study in line with the CYP IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and qualified as an EMHP
- Registration as an EMHP with the British Psychological Society (BPS) or the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
- Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development within their EMHP role.

**Desirable**

- A further relevant degree qualification.
- Demonstratable Knowledge and post qualification experience of working, delivering Low intensity CBT interventions to CYP and or their families within a multi-agency environment.
