You will work within a well-established multidisciplinary team supporting adults with learning disabilities to maximise their health, wellbeing, independence and quality of life. As one of four CLDT's within Hywel Dda UHB, the service offers strong professional networks, peer support and opportunities for collaborative development. Alongside managing a specialist caseload, the successful candidate will undertake a Clinical Lead role in an agreed area of physiotherapy practice. We are particularly interested in applicants with an interest in spasticity management. This role offers a highly specialist caseload, professional leadership support, regular supervision, continuing professional development opportunities, and involvement in service improvement, audit, education and innovation. We are seeking a physiotherapist with significant post-registration experience, excellent communication skills and a passion for improving outcomes for people with learning disabilities. You will demonstrate strong clinical decision-making, evidence-based practice, caseload management and multidisciplinary working skills. ### Main duties of the job The post holder will work autonomously as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, providing highly specialist assessment, treatment and management for adults with learning disabilities who present with complex physical and health needs. They will manage a specialist caseload, using advanced clinical reasoning to develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based interventions. Working closely with individuals, families, carers, mainstream services and the multidisciplinary team, they will support people to maximise physical function, health outcomes, independence and quality of life. The role includes making reasonable adjustments to ensure people with learning disabilities can access effective physiotherapy services, either by facilitating access to mainstream provision or providing specialist intervention where required. The post holder will provide physiotherapy leadership within the Community Learning Disabilities Team and contribute to service development, audit, research and quality improvement initiatives. They will lead on a defined specialist area of Learning Disability Physiotherapy, supporting clinical practice, staff development and competency across the service.
