We have a fantastic opportunity for a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to work within our Specialised Medicine Therapy team based across the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Weston Park Hospital. As a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist you will work alongside a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and support staff, to deliver high quality care utilising quality improvement and evidence-based healthcare. This will include interventions around early assessment, re-enablement and discharge planning working closely with the MDT and utilising clinical reasoning skills for a complex and diverse case-mix of patients. This will include cognitive assessment, and functional assessment amongst other core occupational therapy skills. Covering a variety of different wards across the hospitals, this is great chance to work with a wide range of patients and develop your experience of different specialties, including Oncology, Haematology, Urology and Infectious Diseases. ### Main duties of the job We are looking for someone who has: - Comprehensive post-registration experience including experience at specialist/senior level within an acute medical/oncology or surgical environment/speciality - Sound knowledge, skills and experience in the education, training and development of pre-registration and post-registration learners - Excellent communication and team-working skills - A commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based healthcare and collective leadership Opportunities: The role offers the opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to grow their personal and professional development with both breadth and depth across a framework of clinical practice, education, leadership, and quality improvement & research.
