Our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Service at HMP Isle of Wight is looking for a dynamic and experienced Clinical SMS Nurse. The team is innovative, forward thinking and committed to a Recovery focused approach that meets people's needs. You will be part of a supportive team with effective management, supervision and guidance.

Working with people who have complex offending backgrounds and substance use needs within prison is both challenging and rewarding. This is a fantastic chance to make a positive difference to the lives of people who are often disadvantaged and vulnerable.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.

## Person Specification

### Experience

**Essential**

- Considerable experience of working with drug and alcohol
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to promote service user involvement.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Nursing Qualification RGN/RMN

**Desirable**

- Relevant training / Qualification in substance use or health care for hard-to-reach individuals
- CBT
- Motivational Interviewing
- Brief solution focussed therapy
- Mapping techniques (ITEP/BTEI)
