Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP. ### Main duties of the job - Provide clinical leadership and coordinate the daily running of the ward. - Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex needs. - Lead and manage staff during shifts, ensuring safe and effective patient care. - Support the Ward Manager with workforce matters including staffing levels, sickness management, appraisals, and complaints. - Promote patient safety, clinical governance, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives. - Act as a mentor and support staff development, supervision, competency assessment, and appraisal processes. - Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning. - Maintain accurate patient records and utilise electronic systems effectively. - Ensure compliance with Trust policies, health and safety requirements, and professional standards. - Contribute to service development and continuous improvement within the ward and Trust. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities The Band 6 Clinical Sister/Charge Nurse is a senior nurse and shift leader responsible for providing clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred care, and supporting the daily management of a 24-bed Care of the Elderly ward. The post holder leads and coordinates shifts, manages a team of nursing staff, undertakes complex clinical assessments, and supports the Ward Manager in maintaining patient safety, quality standards, and ward performance.
