A job opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Secretary to join our Audiology Team to support both paediatric and adult audiology services.

This post is for 15 hours a week and would be an ideal opportunity for somebody looking for a part-time post based within the Audiology Department at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen.

You will be responsible for typing clinic reports, answering telephone queries, chasing test results, pulling medical records and liaising with other professional involved in the care of children/adults with hearing issues. You will be required to have excellent communication skills and have experience in both clerical and administration duties. You will need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions.

### Main duties of the job

Working 15 hours per week, the successful candidate will be required to support the delivery of a comprehensive and quality secretarial service to the Audiology team.

You will undertake a wide-range of duties including receipt and distribution of mail, audio transcription (T-Pro) and the typing of highly sensitive letters and reports, maintaining confidentiality at all times, in addition to operation of both the Audiology (AuditBase) and Health Board’s patient database systems. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work. You must be able to work on your own initiative and use tact and diplomacy where appropriate.

Experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail, coupled with proven secretarial skills (including audio typing skills)is essential. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, but not essential.
