We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Scientist to join our dynamic Audiology team across St Michael’s Hospital and Southmead Hospital in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking service that delivers high-quality care to patients with complex auditory needs.

As a Band 7 Clinical Scientist, you will play a key role in providing advanced diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services, supporting clinical decision-making, and contributing to service development. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centred care and uphold the highest standards of clinical practice.

Final year/recent STP Graduates are encouraged to apply.

### Main duties of the job

- Deliver specialist audiological assessments and interventions for adults and children with complex hearing needs.
- Provide expert advice and support to clinical colleagues and trainees.
- Contribute to research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in teaching and training activities for staff and students.

### Skills and Abilities

**Essential**

- - Ability to communicate complex scientific information both oral and written
- - An advanced level of clinical skills and knowledge of Audiological conditions and treatments
- - Analytical skills to be able to interpret and compare a range of options for problem solving
- - Ability to Prioritise
- - Good Time Management skills

### Knowledge and Experience

**Essential**

- - Good knowledge base in all aspects of Adult Audiology
- - Experience in autonomously performing diagnostic audiovestibular investigations including creating management plans (calorics, vHIT, cVEMP)

**Desirable**

- - Minimum of 2 years relevant post qualification experience
- - Experience of teaching/training of staff
- - Experience performing objective audiological assessments such as corticals, ABR, OAEs
- - Experience of running a balance rehabilitation clinic
- - Experience testing and treating BPPV (eg Epley and BBQ roll)
- - Experience contributing to research/audit

### Qualifications and Training

**Essential**

- Registered Clinical Health Professional i.e., AHCS or HCPC
- - STP Neurosensory science (Audiology) or MSc Audiology plus Certificate of Audiological Competence (CAC)/ HTS modules or can demonstrate evidence of development of knowledge and skills to this level
- - Recognised training in areas of vestibular investigation and rehabilitation including certificates in the practical assessments for DAV
