## Job Content

### Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Research Support Project Manager to join the Cardiology Research team at Barts Health NHS Trust. This role will support delivery of a dynamic portfolio of cardiovascular and heart valve research studies, including structural heart, imaging, device and CTIMP trials. The post holder will provide operational leadership across the full research lifecycle – from feasibility and study set-up to close-out – ensuring compliance with ICH-GCP, MHRA and Trust governance frameworks. With a strong emphasis on digital health integration, data governance and imaging research oversight, this role is ideal for an experienced research professional passionate about innovation in cardiovascular research delivery. You will work closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists, research nurses and academic collaborators to ensure high-quality, efficient and compliant study management within a large acute NHS Trust setting.

### Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will coordinate and manage a portfolio of heart valve and cardiovascular research studies, including TAVI, surgical valve, multimodal imaging and device trials.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead on, conduct and deliver patient research visits including scheduling, related comms and data management
- Preparing and managing IRAS submissions, REC applications and substantial amendments
- Supporting SoECAT and AcoRD processes in collaboration with R&D and finance teamsteams.
- Maintaining study timelines, recruitment projections, risk registers and performance dashboards
- Overseeing Investigator Site Files and ensuring audit readiness
- Supporting cardiovascular imaging dataset governance and secure data transfer processes
- Facilitating electronic health record screening and digital recruitment strategies
- Producing recruitment and governance reports for oversight meetings
- Providing supervision and mentorship to junior research staff including appraisal management
- Acting as liaison between cardiology MDTs, pharmacy, laboratories, sponsors and external partners.

We are seeking an organised and proactive research professional with experience in NHS clinical research delivery, strong governance expertise and an understanding of digital health systems, data management and cardiovascular research pathways.

### Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Although this position is a 4 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 4 months.
