The appointee will complete NIHR Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and support respiratory clinical research trials.  There are no fixed clinical duties.  There will be a commitment to deliver a research clinic and there will be opportunity to gain familiarity with practical respiratory procedures. ### Detailed job description and main responsibilities The respiratory inpatients are looked after at Respiratory Hub at MMUH in ward C3. There are 16 consultants who work on the wards in turns for a week in a row as COW (Consultant of the week). There are 4 SPRs and 6 Trust middle grade specialty doctors who provide cover on wards. There are specialist NIV, TB, cancer, Asthma and ILD nurses who work in clinical teams. The department has dedicated pleural clinic, Acute and domiciliary NIV service and procedure lists including EBUS-TBNA and medical thoracoscopy. Outpatient Clinics: - General Respiratory (all consultants) - Specialty clinics - Asthma - COPD - Sleep/ ventilation - Interstitial Lung Disease - TB - Bronchiectasis - Lung cancer and Rapid Access Clinics The single-site Acute Hospital will benefit from co-located specialist services which will support the new Emergency Department with dedicated imaging facility and Assessment Units. It will provide state-of-the-art treatment and care for patients from Sandwell and across the region and will become the civic heart of the area and a point of pride for the community.
