The successful candidate will be responsible for providing care and support to individuals with learning disabilities within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The Tower Hamlets Community Learning Disabilities Service operates as an integrated health and social care multidisciplinary service. This service is dedicated to facilitating collaboration with local health and social care providers, ensuring that individuals with learning disabilities can access mainstream services when feasible, and that their experiences and outcomes are positive. Furthermore, the service delivers specialized support to clients as required. The role entails delivering highly specialized clinical psychology services to individuals with learning disabilities, as well as their families and caregivers. This includes assessment and the development and implementation of specialized psychological interventions. The postholder will assume a key position within the Tower Hamlets Community Learning Disabilities Service, with a particular emphasis on providing Positive Behavior Support interventions designed to assist clients, their families, and broader systems in managing behaviors of concern. The postholder will also contribute to the ongoing development of both the field of psychology and the service itself. In this role, the postholder will operate autonomously, managing a designated caseload of complex cases independently, demonstrating problem-solving abilities and clinical reasoning skills in accordance with evidence-based and client-centered principles.
