## Job Content

### Job overview

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Clinical Psychologist to join our established Older Adults Psychology Service across East Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high‑quality community care for older people, working within a supportive team of Psychologists who specialise in later‑life mental health across Surrey community and inpatient services.

We are a supportive team that values innovation, fosters development and is passionate about the care of older people and their families.

You will be supported to develop a personalised development plan to further your knowledge and skills in the psychology of older people, in line with your career interests and the needs of the services.  You will receive regular supervision from a Principal Clinical Psychologist specialising in working with older people and have access to a specialist neuropsychology supervision group. We hold regular CPD sessions in addition to clinical supervision, management supervision, and peer support.

We have strong links to the University of Surrey clinical training course and we value the contribution of Psychologists in Training.

### Main duties of the job

This role involves working autonomously in conducting detailed assessment and formulation, therapeutic intervention, and neuropsychological assessments, covering both mental health and organic problems for people living in the local community.

You will be working closely and collaboratively with the local multi-disciplinary teams in this region. A key part of this role will be using clinical leadership skills to influence teams in embedding psychosocial approaches within everyday practice. You will also be supporting and supervising pre-qualified and qualified Psychology staff.

There will be opportunities to lead on quality improvement projects and to contribute to the development of psychology provision across older people’s services. We support the undertaking of leadership and supervisor training to enable you to develop your skills and progress in your role.

This role would suit both experienced Senior Psychologists already working at 8a as well as those who are ready to progress from a Band 7 to 8a Psychologist role. We will also consider applications looking for a preceptorship role. Please indicate this in your application form if you are interested in this.

This post requires travelling throughout Surrey in line with service need and therefore a car driver is essential.
