### Job overview

This substantive role involves working in a small, friendly multi-disciplinary team to provide psychological interventions, assessment and consultation for young people with ARFID and their families. You will be based in Stowmarket but there may be a requirement to travel independently across Suffolk on occasion. There are opportunities to link up with other psychological therapists across the wider eating disorders service.

We will provide regular clinical supervision, and relevant specialist training and opportunities for professional development.

We are looking to appoint a skilled, committed, and motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills and a keen interest in working with families, young people and professional network. Previous experience working with individuals with eating disorders is ideal but not essential. We can accommodate some flexible working, in line with the service need and we are a Family Friendly and supportive team.

### Main duties of the job

The role will include, but not be limited to: assessment, formulation, consultation and psychological treatment of individuals with ARFID and co-morbid mental health difficulties, clinical responsibility for complex cases, supporting the Principal Clinical Psychologist with service development projects, providing clinical supervision, and providing consultation to colleagues and to external agencies.

## Person Specification

### Skills

**Essential**

- Able to effectively communicate technical and clinically sensitive information to service users, families, carers and other professionals, within and outside NHS.
- Skilled in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.

### Knowledge

**Essential**

- Doctor level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis.

### Experience

**Essential**

- Experience working as a qualified clinical psychologist (Band 7) and able to evidence appropriate knowledge and experience in practice to enable the post holder to clinically supervise trainee clinical psychologist

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Post-graduate degree (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology, accredited by BPS
- Supervisor training, to be a supervisor of doctoral programme clinical psychology trainees or willing to undertake training

**Desirable**

- Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
