We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist  to join the Oxfordshire CAMHS Eating Disorder team based in Cowley for a 1 year fixed term.  We invest strongly in staff development, offering training, supervision and specialist interest groups to support skills in interventions such as FT-AN, CBT (including CBT-E) and NET.

Staff wellbeing is central to our service. We are a highly supportive team, and managers work with you to ensure manageable caseloads and to help you develop special interests.

We will also consider applications from trainee counselling and clinical psychologists who will soon be eligible for registration with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) or BABCP.

### Main duties of the job

- Work within a multidisciplinary team including Psychologists, Family Therapists, Psychotherapists, CWPs, Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists.
- Access a range of specialist clinics (e.g., LD, NDC, FT, ED) with opportunities for shared learning and expertise.
- Deliver high-quality specialist clinical psychology within the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service.
- Provide assessment, formulation, risk assessment and evidence-based care plans for children and young people with eating disorders and complex mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies.

Most clinical work is delivered face to face, with opportunities for home working depending on service needs and diary commitments.

## Person Specification

### experience

**Essential**

- Demonstrable experience of working in CYP mental health services.
- Experience of working with young people with severe mental health issues, across a range of settings
- Experience in establishing diagnosis/psychological formulation
- Experience of providing evidence-based psychological therapies, including CBT

**Desirable**

- Experience of working with service users with an eating disorder.
- Experience of group work.
- Experience of working with diverse communities and within a multicultural setting.

### Qualifications

**Essential**

- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology including specifically, models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology.
- - Registration with HCPC or equivalent

**Desirable**

- Pre-qualification training and qualifications or experience in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology
- Additional training in eating disorders specific intervention, such as FT-AN, CBT-E, CBT-T.

**Essential**

- Understanding of common mental health problems and how they may present in patients within community and hospital settings.
- Understanding of the need to use evidence-based psychological therapies, including CBT, and how it relates to this post.
- Knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation
- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups
- Good organisational and time management skills, ability to plan and prioritise own workload
- Understanding of principles and methods of clinical audit, research and service evaluation.

**Desirable**

- Knowledge of therapy/s for the treatment of children and young people experiencing an eating disorder.
